Defeating Disc of Chaos
I can not beat this god-forsaken boss. I have never got him down to less than 85% health even while he is Dazed with me firing Distracting and Savage shots at him. I clear out the Destroyers around hims first of course.
I never knew what I was coming up against so I had taken Sabs 3 Necros, 2 monk henchies and Cynn and Herta. I've concluded that next time I shouldn't use Cynn due to its fire damage.
I play as a ranger and I was wondering which heroes and what builds would be optimal as well as which henchmen are the most useful in this case.
A link to his wikipage; http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Disc_of_Chaos
Thanks~

I play as a ranger too, if you have factions I suggest you bring Broad Head Arrow, if not bring concussion shot (even if it's a bit hard to use and expensive energy-wise, it's worth it against him). I usually bring Talon, Warrior hero, Healing Rit Hero with recuperation, Herta, Lo Sha, Talon, Mhenlo and a Water Ele Hero if I'm going solo. I've never had trouble with this. On the water Ele it's nice to put maelstrom if possible.
A trick I use is to kill the group on the left, flag your party at the steps and then go back up to the top of the pyramid and head straight towards the disc of chaos. You'll be able to aggro it without attacking it. Head back to your heroes and pull him as far as he'll go, he should be alone or with another destroyer or two and they should be easily destroyed. At that point just keep it dazed and slowly kill it.
Good luck!

Try dropping a monk and grabbing Talon, the N/rt and Mhenlo should be enough to keep your party healed.
Also, what is your golem setup like?

The golem set up is important, I did this on my monk, when I got to the Disc I put them all on melee, and just fouces on healing them and using them to tank. I kept my heros flagged back so they would deal damage, yet not take any.
If you want, micro one of your monk heros to heal the golems, they make life so much easier.

Set the golems to melee, let them die around the disc so they body block him. Then aoe him and or shut him down.

You've got to have some form of tanking/body blocking to hold him away from your casters. Usually some minions and the Golems are enough, even in HM. I usually set 2 to melee and one to heal. The disc does a lot of point blank AoE damage so having all 3 Golems in melee range will just make them die faster. When a Golem goes down switch the heal one to melee to replace it and re-activate the one that went down as soon as you can. If the disc moves towards your casters then back off and it should re-engage the Golems. The last thing you want is that thing hitting Flame Burst in the middle of your back line. Ward Against Elements or Ebon Battle Standard of Courage are very useful for reducing the damage, and if you can fit it in Ward Against Harm is even better since the disc does fire damage.
Daze also works very well combined with the melee Golems/minions although i don't usually bother.
It does have massive health and there's no real fast way to take it down. You just have to keep chipping away at it and stay alive.

When it was my first time on gw:en ( as a monk + i never knew about destroyers being resistant to fire damage ) my h/h wped at the boss, with the room cleared too. I only had cynn + 3 ranged golem. I decided to try the boss with jus the 4 of them as i could be bother to die and res >.<. So i changed the ranged to melee to tank + daze and it worked!
The melee deal contant damge, i healed, cynn did nothing.. soon the boss fell and i completed quest. So if you have a full party along with 3 melee golem to tank it can be very easy. If you still have trouble i suggest that you prine a consumable, e.g. powerstone so that your party had 10% moral and boss will be really easy.

This is your bestest of most special friends. Just let your minion wall/golems take the brunt of the damage and just kick back and watch the swarm of -80s.

Hmmm okay thanks for the help. I was thinking a warder with this setup...
I'll edit this in a sec... xD
EDIT: [build name="Warder" prof=Elementalist/Monk Earth=9 Water=11 Energy=10][Ward Against Harm][Ward Against Elements][Maelstrom][Water Attunement][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Deep Freeze][Extinguish][Resurrection chant][/build]
Also... my golems were all set in Melee mode until they all died and I could never manage to res them without being Flame Bursted.
So you guys are suggesting;
BHA Ranger <---This is me
Warder
N/Rt Healer
MM
2 warrior heroes
Monk hero
and [place proffesion here]
ANy improvements to above??

Take Sabway with you as a BHA, 2 warrior henchs, 1 monk and earth hench, plus the 3 golems in melee, he should go down pretty fast.

I honestly usually put the golems on defense, because they heal your party and allow the tanks to last longer and they also deal direct damage to destroyers... I don't think you should really worry about it too much though.

Couple of things with your warder build-ward against elements is redundant. Remember armor bonus' from skills don't stack-it's only the biggest armor bonus that gets counted-i.e Ward Agaisnt Harm. Taking the 9 Earth Magic points and rounding out Water and Energy Storage will help.
Sometimes though the dead golems can be a boon-they'll make a small wall that the Disk simply can't navigate around-just make sure they'll die at the bottom of the stairs.
If you can, con a buddy into running SS-that'll tear into the Disk like crazy.

The key is basically to keep it away from your squishies. If it gets past the body blockers and gets into your backline you're pretty much guaranteed a wipe unless you have someone with SY or Ward Against Harm in your party, and even then you'll likely not last long enough to kill it. Even Pain Inverter doesn't make a huge dent in it's HP (it's HP is hhuuuuuuge) although it's certainly worth taking if you can. You need constant, sustainable damage to chip it down. SS and Barbs are great for this. I actually used offensive spirits on my Rit and they tore it to peices. Any kind of sustainable armour ignoring damage combined with body blocking will work the best. If you're a Ranger i'd definitely take BHA. The best way to prevent taking damage it to not let it get any spells off in the first place.
For H/H setup i took a HB healer, minion bomber with some prot (Sabway MM), SS hero, Lina, Herta (she has Ward Against Elements), Lo Sha and Eve. I ran an offensive spirit build with painful bond and Ebon Battle Standard of Courage and Alkars Alchemical Acid. The relatively small numbers of Destroyers you face makes a spirit build more effective than in most places. I took a Rt/P SS Spear Chucker once and that worked well too.
If you're still having problems then gimme a shout in-game. I'm only skill capping for the next few days so i should be able to take a break and help you through it.

I defeted the disk quite easy with ranger (beast master) and i think, the very same team setup you have. Golems were all set to range, untill i reach the disc, then switched to melee. I died twice due to symbiotic bond and me being stupid, but that's about it.
3 sabway necros
2 healer hencheis
earth ele
cynn or talon (don't remember any more)
and me (r/rt beastmaster)

As an elementalist, my strategy involves bringing Ward Against Elements, Mantra of Flame, and Great Dwarf Weapon. I tend to use the spell on the Golems so they dont wipe easily. And I use the wards and mantra to decrease the insane amount of damage caused by Mind Burn. The first time the Disc used it on me, I was hit for 764 dmg total!!!! If you manage to keep the golems alive and well (switch 2 to melee and 1 to ranged so you can always res the range without having to sac damage), you can take it down fairly easily.

Once again, thanks.

Okay I was able to Hench and Hero this NM (no joke), with this simple team:
Me (Degen ranger, yes I know burning is pointless, but I used BA anyway)
Lina
Tahlkora as ZB prot (or maybe it was Dunkoro as LoD, can't remember)
Ogden as WoH
Herta (ftw!)
Zho
Either Cynn or Devona, can't remember that one either
And... umm... trying to remember lol
Ah yes, Zhed/Sousuke as Savannah Heat Ele (no burning in the build ofcourse)
Dunno how I managed, but I did
